The Flatiron District is located within Midtown in the borough of Manhattan and derives its name from the triangular shape of the area. Although the boundaries of Manhattan neighborhoods are notoriously hard to pin down, generally the Flatiron District can be said to be bounded by 14th Street and Greenwich Village to the south; Sixth Avenue and Chelsea to the west; 28th Street and Midtown South to the north; and Lexington Avenue/Irving Place to the east.
